The NATO headquarters in Brussels impresses with its innovative architecture and highly symbolic design. The building, opened in 2017, consists of eight elongated, finger-shaped structures made of glass and steel. This shape symbolises hands clasped together - a strong symbol of the cohesion of the member states. The light-flooded rooms and open-plan areas promote transparency and collaboration. With sustainable technologies and high energy efficiency, the NATO headquarters is also a model of modern construction. The textile fire and smoke protection systems from STÖBICH are also exemplary in terms of preventive structural fire protection. The ➥Fibershield®-S fire protection curtains provide the necessary protection in the event of a fire; normally, they are discreetly concealed in narrow housings in the suspended ceilings.
