The Palais Rantzau in Lübeck impressively combines different architectural eras. While the neo-Gothic façade with battlements and turrets is reminiscent of a romantic 19th century castle, the rear of the building with its red brick and pointed arch windows reveals its medieval origins. Inside, baroque door frames meet Gothic vaults and a magnificent rococo banqueting hall with ornate stucco reliefs. Today, the administration of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival is based here.
Following extensive refurbishment by the German Foundation for Monument Protection, the building is once again resplendent in all its beauty - and also boasts optimum safety thanks to modern fire protection measures such as a special ➥ Copy-Cap fire protection bonnet from STÖBICH. The fire protection bonnet folds down protectively over electronic devices such as copiers and printers if they catch fire due to overheating. The surrounding area is thus safely sealed off from the source of the fire - a sensible solution, not only in time-honoured buildings, but generally wherever people work together.
