STÖBICH Group expands its company car fleet with hybrid vehicles
Goslar-based fire protection manufacturer now offers plug-in hybrids as company cars for its group of companies.
With the recently expanded company car policy, employees of the STÖBICH group of companies can now take advantage of the use of a company car as a hybrid model. This is part of a comprehensive roadmap in which changes that have already been implemented and those that are still to come are intended to contribute to the future reduction of CO₂ emissions, according to the commercial managing director of the STÖBICH Group, Peter Stahl. "The conversion of the company fleet to combined drive concepts is not only timely, it is also part of our environmental strategy, with which we want to make our contribution to climate protection and expand it even further in the future," Stahl continued.
The decision in favour of a combined drive concept and against a conventional combustion engine is to be made easier for employees by amending and aligning the company car guidelines with environmentally friendly models. This is intended to create an additional incentive for choosing a vehicle with a CO₂-optimised drive concept. Through this kind of internal subsidy for hybrids, the management hopes to have a positive influence on the employees' decision. For the time being, the change in company car regulations can only be applied to the vehicles of the sales department or people in management positions. "We hope that suitable hybrid models will soon be available from the vehicle manufacturers for service and assembly use, so that the conversion of the fleet can be implemented quickly there as well," adds the CFO.
Last year, STÖBICH had already completely converted the lighting of the production facilities at the manufacturing site to LED technology. Likewise, for some years now, the company has been offering the option of leasing bicycles so that people can even do without a car altogether on their way to work. E-charging columns and a large-scale photovoltaic system on the roof of the production facility at the headquarters are soon to follow.
