The façade of Sweden's first zero-energy hotel in Solna stretches out brilliantly. Very close to the Friends Arena, home of the Swedish national football team, Skanska AB has realised a multi-million construction project of the highest order. Around 22,400 square metres are spread over 11 floors, 336 rooms and 88 flats for long-term residents.
The special feature of the futuristic-looking building is its low energy consumption. It meets strict indoor climate requirements, which is also related to the non-toxic building materials and the ventilation and lighting conditions. Here, really every square metre is used sustainably, because the façade is equipped with solar cells.
In terms of fire protection, a hotel like this must of course also be state of the art. With the Fibershield®-P fire protection curtains, even very large wall openings can be effectively sealed off. And they are also energy-saving: thanks to the "Gravigen" drive, the curtains close without any external energy - sustainably ingenious!
